How to send only some pages of a PDF

They asked for the signature page or one specific sheet, and you have the whole document. How to extract those pages into a new PDF without uploading it.

Last updated:

A twenty-page contract when they only want the signature page. A full bank statement when they only need the closing balance. A whole medical report when the form asks for one particular sheet. Sending the complete document is convenient, but it shares far more than you were asked for.

The quick way

  1. Open Split PDF and drop the document.
  2. Choose Extract pages.
  3. Type the ones you want, for example 1, 4-6.
  4. Press Split PDF and download the result.

The new PDF contains only those pages, with selectable text and images intact. The original never leaves your device.

How to write the page list

  • 3 — just the third.
  • 1-3 — the first to the third.
  • 1-3, 7 — the first three and the seventh.
  • 8- — the eighth to the end.
  • -2 — the first two.
  • 5-3 — the fifth back to the third, in that order.

Separate items with commas, semicolons or spaces. If you type a page twice, it is included once.

Splitting the whole document

If you need every page on its own, for example to upload invoices one at a time, choose One page per file. You get a ZIP with one PDF per page, numbered so they sort correctly.

Why it is worth it

Every extra page is information that leaves your control: your address in a statement header, transactions that have nothing to do with the request, a full diagnosis when only a date was needed. Once sent, it can end up in a forwarded email, a shared folder or a data breach at a company you have never heard of.

There is a less visible detail too: the new PDF does not inherit the original document’s author or title, fields that often carry the name of a person or a company.

If you need pages from several documents

Extract the pages from each document with this tool, then combine them with Merge PDF. Both run in your browser, and neither uploads your files.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the order of pages when extracting them?

Yes. Pages come out in the order you type them. "5, 1, 2" puts the fifth first, and a reversed range such as "5-3" takes them from the fifth back to the third.

Can I hide details on a page before sending it?

The redaction tool works on images. Take a screenshot of the page, cover what must not be seen with Redact image and send that image, or turn it back into a PDF with your phone's or computer's print function.
