JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF · up to 30 files of 50 MB · never uploaded

Turn a PNG into a JPG or a WebP into a PNG without your photo leaving your phone.

What this does NOT do

  • It cannot convert to WebP in Safari, which does not know how to write WebP files. Chrome, Edge and Firefox can.
  • It cannot open iPhone HEIC photos in every browser: Safari can, most others cannot.
  • It does not keep transparency when converting to JPG, because the format has none: transparent areas become white.
  • It does not keep GIF animation: only the first frame is used.

This tool runs entirely inside your browser. There is nothing to upload, so there is nothing we can see, store or lose. You can disconnect from the internet and it will still work.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a PNG to a JPG?

Choose JPG as the output format and drop your PNG: it is converted at once and ready to download. If the PNG had transparent areas, they are filled with white, because the JPG format has no transparency. To keep it, convert to WebP or leave the file as PNG.

How do I turn a WebP image into a JPG or PNG?

Choose JPG or PNG and drop the WebP file. This is useful because many sites serve their images as WebP, and some older programs and forms will not accept them. JPG is smaller and suits photos; PNG is better for screenshots, logos and anything with text or transparency.

Can I convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG?

It depends on your browser: Safari, on iPhone, iPad and Mac, can open HEIC, so conversion works there. Chrome, Firefox and Edge on Windows or Android cannot, and the tool will tell you so rather than failing silently. Another option is to have the iPhone share the photo as a JPG, which it does automatically in many apps.

Which format should I use: JPG, PNG or WebP?

JPG for photos you are sending anywhere, because everything accepts it. PNG for screenshots, logos and images with text, because it keeps edges sharp. WebP when the image is for a website: it is noticeably smaller than JPG at the same quality and supports transparency, though some older programs still cannot open it.

Why can I not convert to WebP in Safari?

Because Safari can display WebP images but cannot create them: when a page asks it for a WebP, it silently returns a PNG instead. The tool checks which format actually came out and warns you, rather than handing you a file with the wrong extension. In Chrome, Edge or Firefox, converting to WebP works.
